- Our city walk begins from the city square and the street known as “ Korzo “ which is the most popular promenade in the central part of the town. Most restaurants and coffee bars are located on this street. After our introduction with the story of Strumica we walk towards The City Hall and the Hotel ‘’ Srpski Kral ‘’ ( Serbian King ).
- The City Hall is an administrative building, located in the city center and place from where the “ Korzo “ promenade starts and goes downwards towards the square and finishing at the City Park. The City Hall dominates with it’s beautiful facade and architecture and also right next to it is the above mentioned Hotel “ Srpski Kral “, build in the same architecture style. The style of the buildings is neo – classical architecture, which is distinctive for Strumica in the beginning of the 20th century, today this building is a modern bank.
- Across the buildings on the left side we continue along the old part of the town, also known as “ Strumichka Charshija” ( Strumica Bazar ). On this street there is around 30 houses that are leaving proof of the urban development of the town, houses of the once wealthy craftsmen’s and merchants from Strumica. Build in the early 20th century with neo-classical and neo-baroque facades.
- The Chatholic Tample “ Dormition of the Mother of God’’, is our next stop, one of the newest sacred religious buildings in Strumica which is the town with many Christian religious groups beside the Muslims. From here we go uphill deeper in the old part of the town to come to the magnificent Orthodox church St. Cyril and Methodius.
- Orthodox Church St. Cyril and Methodius – We will enter here to hear the story of the spiritual struggle in Strumica which started with opening schools in which the classes were held in Macedonian language and the service performed in the local churches was performed in old Slavic language. The initiative for the construction of the church was started after the burning of the church St. Dmitrij from 19th century and after the heated church conflicts in the town between the Greek patriarchate and the Bulgarian Exarchate that erupted in the Renaissance period in 1869. More about the story of this place you will hear when you come in Strumica.
- The upper old part of the city abounds with old architecture, from where we walk around in the small streets and witnessing some of it, like the Old Court build 1900 and some representative private houses, to come to another point of storytelling – The Old Turkish Post from 19th century located next to the sacred Orta Moskque build in 1613 / 1614. And next to Orta Mosque lies another site “ Machuk ” a late ancient urban palace build between the 4th and 6th century. The detail about this hidden story you will hear right on the spot.
- After this crossroad we continue our walk down street, finishing our tour and city walk back to the city square “ Goce Delchev “ and the promenade street “ Korzo “ , with nice refreshing drink at some of the local coffee bars.
