Epic Travel Story (epictravelstory.mk) is a boutique travel company based in Strumica, North Macedonia. We design and run small-group and private journeys through Macedonia and the wider Balkans, always guided by our motto: travel with a story.
Macedonia Tour Guide is our brand and the way it all started. It began as the personal website of one licensed storytelling guide taking visitors around the country. The demand for his tours grew so quickly that we soon registered a company around it, so that we could offer complete round trips, day trips, team-building programmes and tailor-made itineraries, with the same personal touch that made the first tours special.
We are deliberately small. Round trips travel with a maximum of 7 or 12 guests, day trips and tailor-made tours are private, and every itinerary is put together by hand for the people who will actually travel it. Comfortable accommodation, transport, meals and local guides are arranged for you, and the price you see is the price you pay.
Whether you are interested in an active holiday, hiking, ancient history, architecture, gastronomy, wine or simply soaking up the scenery, we can design a programme that fits you, from a single day around Strumica to a two-week story through the Western Balkans.
Our founder
Blazhe Popov, founder and CEO of Epic Travel Story, is a professional licensed tour guide, trained mountain guide and trail designer who has been guiding travellers around Macedonia since the early days of tourism in the country. He speaks excellent English and Macedonian and good Serbian, Croatian and Bulgarian, and he still leads most of our tours himself.
Travel in our own vehicle
For private tours and transfers we can travel in our own Volkswagen Touran (Model - Design): a comfortable, air-conditioned family MPV with room for up to four guests and their luggage. It is ideal for couples, families and small groups who want door-to-door service, flexible stops and a guide who is also the driver.
